Description:
Invaders from space are approaching the earth and you
must blast them out of the sky. If any of the invaders land on Earth,
then it's game over. Use the meteors as shields from the enemy
onslaught. Take out the flying saucers for extra fire power. Hold out as
long as you can from wave after wave of the enemy onslaught. Doing
this in 2D or 3D mode. Save the
Earth!
Scoring:
- Aliens are worth 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 points each
depending on row (10 is lowest row & 60 is highest row).
- Flying Saucers are worth 500 points each & will
either give double fire power or take it away from you.
- Meteors are worth 5 points each, but any that survive
until the end of the level will give 1000 points each.
- A bonus ship is awarded at 10,000 points.
Settings:
- Video
settings are 1920x1080 (2K HD).
- Change the language on the
main menu for the text in different languages.
- At the
start menu, choose either 2D or 3D for the game you want. Also
choose if you want to play with an accelerometer (with onscreen overlay)
or with either a keyboard or joystick (no onscreen overlay). Also,
choose to use single fire or auto-fire.
- If you are using a device with an accelerometer, then
you control the ship by holding the screen flat above the ground and
tilting the device left or right. The more tilted it is, the faster the
player's ship will move.
- Keyboard/Joystick: Use keys on the keyboard to
control the ship or plug in a joystick. The joystick supports both modes
(analog and digital). Digital mode is when the ship moves at the same
speed all of the time. Analog mode is when the ship will move faster if
you press the joystick farther (this is also the mode for the
accelerometer). Navigating though the menus is done in digital mode so
if it doesn't seem to work, you may need to press the 'mode' button on
the joystick to switch to the D-PAD.
Game Play:
- Move your ship left or right firing up at the
bombardiers.
- Press the fire button to shoot lasers.
- Destroy all of the aliens and a new wave comes up.
- Occasionally, a flying saucer will appear at the top
of the screen.
- If the bombardiers get to the bottom of the screen or
if the player looses all of his ships, then the game is over.
- SlifkerGames' "Space Bombardiers (2D/3D)"
version 4.21 is now live on the Google
Play Store (Android). This fixes issues that made it non-compliant
with some of the recent Play Store guidelines. The reason is that
they constantly change things, so developers must keep constaltly change
things too. Unfortunately, this also means that your saved data is
no longer good. You will have to delete your saved data on your Android device.
Then, you could also delete the app,
redownload the app and reinstall the app just to be safe. Sorry about that.
If using Android 13 (other versions may
be slightly different), click on 'settings' (that is the gear icon at the top of screen), click on 'apps', click on the
name of the game, click on 'storage', click on 'clear cache', click on
'clear data', click on 'storage' at the top of the screen to go back one
screen, click on 'uninstall'. Then if you want, redownload and reinstall the
game. Finally, follow the instructions that come next. Your
'pro store' should look like picture D when all is done and good.
To see if your app's data is good or bad, do this.
From the main menu, click on the 'pro store' button. Picture A.
A) 'Pro
Store' Button (From Main Menu of Any of Our Apps.)
Next, when inside the app's 'pro store',
see which of the following three pictures it looks like: picture
B, C or D. If it looks like picture D, then you are good.
B) Old IAP 'Pro
Store' (You Must Now Delete Data and Reinstall App.)
(You have old
version of the app and data is bad.)
C) New IAP 'Pro Store' (You Must Now Delete Data and Reinstall
App.)
(You have new version of app but data is bad. The
'restore' button is not shown.)
D) New IAP 'Pro Store' (This is what it should look like.)
(You have the new version of the app and the data is good.)
If your 'pro store' looks like picture B,
then that is the old 'pro store'. It also means you have an old
version of the app. You will need to follow the instructions to
clear out any data on the Android device.
Note, this will also delete any saved games. Sorry about that.
If your 'pro store' looks like the
picture C, then you have the updated app version. However, the
'pro store' button doesn't do anything after clicking on it and the
'restore' bar is not there. You will need to follow the
instructions to clear out any data on the Android device. Note, this will also delete any saved games.
Sorry about that.
If your 'pro store' looks like the picture
D, then you are good. You want your 'pro store' to look like the picture with
the two bars.
If you have previously purchased the app,
then the 'sold' tag will be shown and the price should not be shown.
Clicking on the 'restore' button will
re-ping the server to see if you own the app or not. You could do that
if you have purchased the app, but it does not indicate it.
Any other times it will appear to do nothing because it has alrady verified
that the
information was already correct. Some apps will show this option
and others won't. It used to be a requirement from the stores to
show this, but now it's mostly an option. I am choosing to include
the 'restore' button just in case, but really it is not needed anymore.
The information gets pinged regardless.
The minimum API to run the game is now Android 10.
I will get the other non-android versions
of the game to the other stores soon.
- SlifkerGames' "Space Bombardiers" version 4.00 is now live on the
Google Play Store (Android/Chrome) and Microsoft Store (UWP). This
fixed an issue that when exiting the app with a keyboard or joystick,
then the app would not do anything.
- SlifkerGames' "Space Bombardiers" version 3.90 is now live on the Microsoft Store (UWP). There was a minor update fix to allow ARM
devices to play it. Nothing else changed.
- SlifkerGames' "Space Bombardiers" version 3.80 is now live on the Google Play Store
(Android/Chrome) and Microsoft Store (UWP). Be sure to check it
out for some arcade shoot 'em up space alien invader fun.
- SlifkerGames: "Space Bombardiers" version 3.60 is now live on the Google Play Store
(Android) and Microsoft Store (UWP Windows 10). There were some
minor bug fixes. There was also a bigger bug fix where as before
there was an issue getting the pro version of the game. Hopefully it is fixed now.
- SlifkerGames: "Space Bombardiers" version 3.52 is now live on the Google Play Store
(Android) and Microsoft Store (UWP Windows 10). There were some
minor bug fixes.
- SlifkerGames: "Space Bombardiers" is now live on the Google Play Store (Android) and
Microsoft Store (UWP Windows 10). You can download and play the
game at anytime now. One of the things a developer has to do is
apply for a rating. There is a form to fill out and they send you
a rating. Some countries have their own ratings too and the may
even charge money to get one. Some countries will even look at the
game and change the rating for their own country. Australia did
this to "Space Bombardiers" a couple of years ago because spaceships get
blown up. It was considered animated violence so they gave it a
"PG" instead of an "E". Also, ratings for a game can change too.
If something changes in the game, you then reapply for a new rating.
It may or may not be the same as before.

Austrailia overrode the rating for their country to a "PG"

- Version 3.02 of "SlifkerGames' Space Bombardiers" was uploaded to the Google Play
Store (Android) and to the Microsoft Store (Windows 10 UWP) yesterday.
The Google Play Store accepted it and is now live to be downloaded.
The Microsoft Store has a much more involved process. It is
currently pending certification there. The Play Store usually
makes a new build live in 4-6 hours while Microsoft usually takes 2-4
weekdays. This is a good thing as Microsoft looks for viruses,
bugs and compatability issues. They actually have two different
certifications that a game has to go through before they will let it go
live (one locally on your computer for compatibility issues and a second
one at Microsoft). The game has been denied several times already.
Each time I have to figure out why it failed and fix it. One
example is that an icon was slighly over their file size limit.
Another time it didn't have a specific Microsoft Store splash image.
These are usually simple things to fix.
Microsoft Store UWP Cetification Info for "Space Bombardiers"
- New video and screenshots were taken. These will replace the older
ones online for this webpage, on FaceBook and on YouTube. The
video was edited into a trailer that you can see at the top of this page
while the screenshots are on the left side of this page.
- A
complete redo of the game was done. here are some of the changes made.
New UI menu system. It now uses
an cursor flying saucer icon so it can be used with a joystick.
Before you had to use the mouse to make selections in the menu and then
use the joystick in the game. Now you can just use the joystick
all of the time.
There is just 1 version of the game
now. Before there were two. The pro store allows IAP instead
of having a second unlocked game altogether.
Added multi-language support.
Now it has the last game's score and
the high score on the main menu. the addition of the last game
score allows one to prove his last score.
The game is a lot harder now.
Before it was way too easy. Changes in the invader's speed, start
location, firing speed and more. Before this took 15 stages to max
out. Now the toughest stage is the 5th one.
Added the stage number on the play screen.
This allows you to see how far you have gotten.
Fixed a few bugs like: sometimes the player's ship
would stop shooting after losing a life. This is now fixed.
Changed the help menu to reflect the changes that
were made.
Added a new 3D mode. This makes
the game 3D with the camera just off of the player's ship. Now you
can play in 2D or 3D. You can also choose to play with the
keyboard/mouse or joystick. This is pretty cool.
The name was changed again. Originally
called "Blasto! Invaders", then "Blasto! Space Bombardiers", it is now
just "Space Bombardiers". The reason is to avoid confusion with
another game called "Blasto".
